Get to know each neighborhood, then explore our many options and book below!

2nd Street

This area is home to local and national brands, ranging from beauty, body, and abode, to restaurants and overnight respites. With next-door access to the famed Austin City Limits at the Moody Theater, the W Austin amplifies the city’s creative culture. Located conveniently between the Austin Convention Center and the 2nd Street shopping, the JW Marriott is a great jumping-off point for exploring all that downtown has to do.

Rainey Street

Renovated houses turned into bungalow bars reign supreme on this increasingly popular tucked-away street. Day or night, you’ll find relaxed bar-goers strolling from bar to food trailer to bar again, often with their dogs in tow looking for a kicked-back sip and a bite. The towering new Fairmont Austin is downtown’s largest hotel and features five inviting restaurants and bars along with a rooftop pool. While Hotel Van Zandt is a tribute to Texas troubadour Townes Van Zandt and boasts well-appointed rooms and a posh bar and restaurant.

Red River

Once home to mostly metal and punk fans, Red River has evolved. Though still edgy, it’s come into its own as a cultural district with a diversity of live music, along with a vast variety of food and drink offerings. The recently revamped Hilton Austin is home to two new restaurants and a coffee shop, along with expansive city views that can’t be beaten. While the sleek hybrid Hotel Indigo/Holiday Inn Express is just steps from all the action. Spend your days exploring the history and the culture of downtown, then spend your nights hopping from venue to venue in the Live Music Capital of the World®.

Sixth Street

Sixth Street is distinctly Austin. With its colorful and bustling array of bars, restaurants, and entertainment venues, it’s a sure bet for experiencing local characters and the vibrancy of the city. Spend a night at the Driskill Hotel, one of the most iconic hotels in Austin, and wake up with a benedict at 1886 Cafe and Bakery. Or, stay in the Firehouse Hostel, located in the city’s oldest standing fire station and home to one of Austin’s best speakeasy bars.

Warehouse District

As the name suggests, many of this neighborhood’s bars and restaurants are housed in renovated, antique warehouses. The gritty backdrop makes for a vibrant scene that draws a diverse crowd thanks to its range of live entertainment, restaurants, LGBTQ scene, and unique shops. Hotels within walking distance include the new Aloft Austin Downtown (home to a stunning patio bar with yard games and street-style tacos) and the brand new boutique Hotel ZaZa, opening in August 2019.

West Sixth Street

Not to be confused with its louder sister, West Sixth Street has developed its upscale personality. It’s a prized destination for decadent dinners, craft beer, sporting events, shopping, and nightlife. With 24-hour diners, eclectic boutiques, independent book, and record stores, and the occasional pedal-powered beer pub bike crawl cruising by, make time to explore the West Sixth Street area in Austin. Book your extended stay at the nearby Wyndham Austin, where resort-styled suites are the norm. Or experience the luxe new Canopy by Hilton, which opened in 2020 and is home to stunning city views.
