The luxe Thompson Austin offers 212 guest rooms and suites, along with a 6,700-square-foot wellness center that features a sports simulator and private fitness rooms. Guests are greeted by a uniquely designed front desk inspired by raw cut gemstones, with a Japanese-inspired shou sugi ban wood ceiling finish. Common spaces in the hotel feature statement concrete walls, offset by bold finishes of mixed metals, hints of soft leather, and luscious greenery that help create warmth.

 

 

The Thompson Austin also offers more than 10,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor meeting and event space spread across its second and fourth floors. Within the lobby of the Thompson Austin is Diner Bar, a convivial fine dining restaurant, also overseen by Bailey, that serves Port City dishes such as country pasta.

 

On the fourth-floor deck is Wax Myrtle’s Hide-A-Way, a poolside indoor/outdoor restaurant, and bar offering modern cuisine. Led by executive chef Nick Erven, the menu features seasonal American dishes with regional ingredients, such as griddled Gulf shrimp with bone marrow-chili butter and sesame seeds.
